During this four day workshop, explore the coastal environment the south western shore of Newfoundland. During the workshop you will have the opportunity to photograph the unique maritime environment and the tundra landscape of the interior. You will visit small communities along the coast and learn about the people, the life and the rich local culture of the area. Circumstances permitting, we will try to visit an isolated community accessible only by boat. This will be a unique opportunity as the maritime service is disappearing and the small settlements are closing and being abandoned.

Environment: Natural & Human

The natural environment is this context of human existence. It provides us with shelter, sustenance and fulfillment. In this contemporary Green Age we are compelled to examine our relationship with the environment, examine our use of the environment and the long term survivability of the environment. The goal of this workshop to enlarge your perception of the environment, both natural and human, and to create appreciative expressions of your experiences. Participants will learn ways to broaden their consciousness, react creatively and go beyond cataloguing what they see by using visual dynamics to enrich their images with emotional expression.
