Workshop OutlineThis workshop explores the differences between how a photographer sees versus how camera sees. In order to make expressive and communicative images a photographer must appreciated the difference between the image seen in the brain through input from stereoscopic vision of the eyes and that seen by a cameras optical system, limited by the viewfinder, recorded on photosensitive material and captured as a period of time by the shutter. Participants will do photographic exercises to explore and appreciate how the camera lens, the shutter and the photographic medium record the physical world in a different manner than the eye and the brain in order to become more conscious of your use of photographic craft and technique to create expressive images. Participants are expected to have mastered the basic craft of photography, have a working knowledge and experience with their equipment and software. Workshop OutlineThis digital photography workshope is usually presented in eight three-hour sessions, four presentations, three photo sessions and a final session for appreciation of the work of the participants with guidance for future work.
